Lamont (Monte) Kendall
Nominated to the Board on March 2, 2010, Monte Kendall is the Vice Chairman of Homes by Avi Group of Companies in Calgary.
Shortly after receiving his CA designation, Monte entered the residential construction industry in Calgary, joining Homes by Avi in 1999. Monte played a vital role in the growth of Avi from a single division building 200 homes per year to a multi divisional, multi City, international Builder currently building 1,000 homes per year.
Monte assumed the role of Chair of The Alberta New Home Warranty Program Group of Companies on April 6, 2017.

Nominated to the Board on February 26, 2013, Miles Kohan is the President & CEO of Park Royal Homes (2016) Ltd. in Edmonton.
Prior to becoming President & CEO of Park Royal Homes (2016) Ltd. Miles was Vice President of Sterling Homes. He is a fan of new technology and improved building practices and enjoys the creative part of building something that lasts in the community. Miles holds an MBA from the University of Wales and attained his Institute of Corporate Directors designation in 2016.
Miles assumed the role of Vice-Chair of The Alberta New Home Warranty Program Group of Companies on April 6, 2017 and also serves on the Governance Committee and Committee Human Resources.
Nominated to the Board on March 10, 2016, Amolak Grewal is an Independent Director from Edmonton. Amolak has over 25 years of experience in financial services, technology and human resource industries and is the President & CEO of HumanEdge Global, a national search firm with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. Amolak earned his undergraduate science degree from the University of Calgary and has completed Executive programs at Queens University and the Anderson School for Management in UCLA. Amolak serves on the Governance Committee and Human Resources Committee.
Nominated to the Board on April 12, 2018, Stewart McAndrews is the President of Dolche Vita Homes LP and CFO of The Beaverbrook Group.
Stewart’s career over the past 25 years has included being a partner in a local Chartered Accounting firm in Edmonton and Vice President of Professional Services of Allstream Inc. before becoming one of the founding members of Dolche Vita Homes LP in 2009. He was also Treasurer of CHBA-ER for 5 years. As a developer and a builder in the Edmonton community, Stewart has been focused on providing new and innovative customer experiences and quality products.
Stewart serves on the Governance Committee and Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta.
Nominated to the Board on March 6, 2014, Kurt Paterson is an independent Director from Edmonton.
Kurt is community minded, with over 30 years of business management experience in insurance, risk management, finance and advocacy. A Commerce graduate from the University of Alberta, he attained his CPA, CA designation with PricewaterhouseCoopers, is a Fellow with the Insurance Institute and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Kurt serves as Chair of the Risk & Audit Committee.
Nominated to the Board on March 12, 2015, Peter Parkin is an Independent Director from Okotoks.
Peter studied Business and Commerce at Ryerson University in Toronto and is also a published author of seven novels. Peter spent his entire professional career in the insurance industry, working with five different companies. The last half of Peter’s career was spent acting as Vice Presidents of underwriting, marketing and operations at several organizations and was Chief Operating Officer with a large national insurance organization headquartered in Calgary prior to his retirement.
Peter serves on the Risk & Audit Committee.
Nominated to the Board on March 12, 2015, Shirley Raab is an Independent Director from Edmonton.
Shirley holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a CPA designation and has been awarded a fellowship in the CPA profession. Shirley has over twenty years of executive experience in the insurance industry as a CEO and consultant.
Shirley serves on the Governance Committee.
Nominated to the Board on April 6, 2017, Steve Ruggerio is the President and CEO of Kimberley Homes Group.
After graduating from the University of Alberta, Steve began his career with Kimberley Homes where he started on-site, learning the build process and studying under the Kimberley senior team to learn all aspects of operations. Steve became a partner and Vice President of Operations for Kimberley Homes in 2007 taking a leadership role in the growth, restructure and expansion of the company, and became the youngest president in 2010. Steve is the past president of the Canadian Homebuilders Association – Edmonton Region (2016).
Steve serves on the Professional Home Builders Institute of Alberta.
Nominated to the Board on March 3, 2009, Greg Yuzwa is an Independent Director from Calgary.
After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, Greg spent his entire career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. As a partner for twenty-six years, Greg served the audit, tax and business advisory needs of primarily private companies in various industries including real estate development, home building and insurance.
Greg serves on the Risk & Audit Committee.
